HEAD COACH - JEFF HAWN

As a player, I had a successful minor hockey career in Northern Ontario, excelling up to Midget AAA where I won multiple league awards and scoring titles. I draw upon this experience and gameplay comprehension when molding players into successful, driven, and cognisant teammates.  I encourage a comprehensive approach to coaching, while promoting intensity, creativity, responsibility, and responsiveness in practice and play.

My coaching experience is widespread in both the hockey and ringette worlds. I have been the head or assistant coach of provincial level ringette teams, as well as an active bench member of boys’ hockey teams achieving league titles and notable success at OMHA Championships. I have
also been a contributor to success in girls’ minor hockey, being part of the 2023/4 U11A Provincial Champions goalie development, as well as the provincially top-ranked 2024/5 U11AA team.

A physiotherapist in the Durham Region, I graduated summa cum laude from Queen’s University, with a master’s degree in Physiotherapy.

COACHING & DEVELOPMENT

My off-ice development programs are rooted in progressive, intentional training, leveraging my physiotherapy knowledge to elevate athletic performance. This is done through customized individual and team exercise and skills programming.

I am excited to be leading the APR U15AA team into the 2025/6 season. I bring a fresh approach, with engaging and unique strategies that are designed to maximize performance and promote higher level thinking and gameplay.  Ultimately, this translates to a winning mentality and fosters both appreciation and enjoyment of the game.

ICE TIMES
The Ajax Pickering Minor Hockey Association has access to multiple ice pads and facilities, allowing teams to receive prime-time ice times, with consistent scheduling; they also provide options to pick up extra ice, allowing for further on-ice development.

THE APR ASSOCIATION
The APMHA has a dedicated Board of Directors and Executive that are all non-parent members, eliminating any perceived conflict of interest or favoritism; their dedication to our MHA is limitless, with no personal gain other than the success of our Association and its players/teams. We have a full administrative staff to support parents and players through all aspects of the season. The APMHA has a solid foundation of continuous and unwavering support for our Coaches, Players and AP Raiders families.
