AP RAIDERS U15AA (26/27) - COACH PROFILE & TEAM INFORMATION
HEAD COACH – JUSTIN MONTGOMERY
I bring over a decade of coaching experience to the bench, combining a deep passion for hockey with a proven ability to help develop players and build successful teams. I have cultivated a reputation for fostering growth, resilience, and teamwork at every level. I still play hockey as well as work with players in a skills development capacity.
MY PHILOSOPHY
I have dedicated my time and expertise to developing players and guiding teams to success. Most recently, I coached 2009 birth year kids, starting in Ajax and continuing with APR after the Ajax-Pickering amalgamation. During my time coaching ‘09s we successfully won three Lakeshore Championships and medaled in numerous tournaments, including winning APR’s Spring Thaw Tournament.
I strive to create an environment where young athletes are free from fear, anxiety, and intimidation. Every successful season I’ve ever had behind a bench always had a group of kids feeling safe and valued, playing hard, and as a result, winning a lot more often than losing.
MY PROGRAM
My comprehensive athlete development program for 2026/27 encompasses a multi-faceted approach designed to enhance performance and skill progression:
• Mindset coach – Pat Morrison
• 5 game breakdown/review sessions
• Off-ice video review sessions
• Strength and conditioning sessions
• Athletic performance enhancement
Tournaments for 2026/27:
• 3-4 tournament appearances
I anticipate approximately 130 hours of ice time. Ice time provided by the APMHA is all prime time and easy for families. Our ice time is generally fixed to specific days and times, so there is no guessing week to week when we are on the ice.
AP RAIDERS ASSOCIATION
APR is the place to play.
The APMHA has a dedicated Board of Directors and Executive that are all non-parent members, eliminating any perceived conflict of interest or favoritism; their dedication to our MHA is limitless, with no personal gain other than the success of our Association and its players/teams. We have a full administrative staff to support parents and players through all aspects of the season. The APMHA has a solid foundation of continuous and unwavering support for our Coaches, Players and AP Raiders families.
