Raiders U15AA Double Up on Gold Medals
The Raiders U15AA travelled up the 400 to Barrie, and returned as tournament champions!
The Raiders took part in the Barrie Minor Hockey Glen Bellerby AA Tournament over the weekend. The team went 3-1 in the round robin portion of the tournament, with wins over the strong Kitchener Jr. Rangers, TNT Tornadoes and Nickel City Sons teams.
The Only loss in the RR was to the Soo Jr. Greyhounds.
The Raiders won a hard-fought game against the Seaway Valley Rapids in the semi-finals, skating away with a 3-2 win. The finals were set with a rematch against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds. The Raiders exploded to 3-0 lead in the first period. But the Soo would regroup, with two quick goals to start the second period. What seemed like a certain victory, became a battle. The Raiders regrouped and controlled the rest of the game, holding off the Soo to walk away champions!
