The U15A Raiders battled hard for a Bradford Blue and Gold Classic Tournament Win! Read more about the teams amazing tournament run!

After a flawless four win round robin the U15A Raiders had a tough battle vs a strong Innisfil Winter Hawk squad. There was a lot of enthusiasm in the air as it was power forward, Griffin Merton’s 14th birthday. All Raiders wanted to get him that trophy to celebrate. The game was tight checking throughout until Noah Kirsten made a lovely move on their D and snapped a hard shot high glove to make it 1-0. Leaning on strong defence and superb goal tending by Myles Matier, the Raiders hung on for a 1-0 win.  Special shout out to JJ for keeping the puck below Innisifil’s goal line while four of their players desperately tried to steal it back in the dying seconds.

The finals pitted the Raiders vs the round robins top ranked of a ten team tournament, the Oakville Rangers Red. After two hard fought periods, the score remained 0-0. Early in the third, Hugo Lagassé jumped on a rebound and jammed it past the goalie for the Raiders first goal. Two more goals came quickly from the same spot. Reid Potashnyk and Noah Falcon blasted slap shots from the right point to a screened goalie to make it 3-0 half way through the third. The Raiders goalie Cole Manning and team held strong through almost three full minutes of 6 on 5 hockey to win the game and the tournament, going undefeated over 6 games and not allowing a goal against all Sunday.

The coaches and parents are extremely proud of all the players who always come prepared and lay it all on the line for their teammates.
Congratulations to Robbie Forsythe being named player of the tournament.  The U15A Raiders would like to congratulate the Oakville Rangers U15A on a great tournament and thank the Bradford Bulldogs for hosting an amazing event.
