Your U18A Ajax Pickering Raiders provided the home fans with some great hockey and a spectacular ending.
With strong goaltending and timely goal scoring, the U18A AP Raiders were able to go 4 - 0 through the round robin beating Newmarket, Timmons, Stittsville
and Kanata. This set up a semi finals match up against the Newmarket Renegades in which the Raiders prevailed 3-1.
In the finals, AP Raiders would face the Windsor Jr Spitfires. In a tight checking game AP Raiders would take a 2-1 lead early in the third period but Windsor would counter back late in the third period tying up the game at 2s. This would lead to a spectacular
moment with AP Raiders on the power play and from the face off Michael Zakojc just back from a recent injury would find himself with the game on his stick...and he would not disappoint scoring the game winning goal with 1:48 left in
the first overtime.
Again thank you to the AP Raider Organization for putting together another great tournament and all of the support from family and friends in attendance over the weekend and supporting our team in the finals.
