A Tribute to Evan, Paxton, Carter
and Jackson
Four Stars, One Last Hockey Season
As we gather to celebrate the
achievements of Evan Michaud, Carter Dunn, Jackson Bruger, and Paxton Grinnell,
we honor not only their remarkable skill on the ice but the incredible young
men they’ve become throughout their hockey journeys. From their humble
beginnings to their standout moments, these athletes have truly exemplified
what it means to dedicate oneself to both sport and personal growth.
Evan Michaud: A Culinary Dream in the Making
Evan’s hockey journey began with the Pickering Raiders as a Major Novice, where his talent and passion quickly stood out. Over the years, his progression from minor Peewee Raiders to the Ajax-Pickering Raiders has been truly impressive. But Evan’s ambitions don’t end with hockey. His love for culinary arts has driven him to pursue an Honors Bachelor of Food Studies at George Brown College. With a dream to become a chef, Evan plans to travel the world, soaking in diverse experiences that will shape his culinary career.
Paxton Grinnell: A Mind for Sports and Knowledge
Paxton began his journey with the Ajax Knights as a novice defenseman before discovering his true calling as a goalie during his PeeWee years. From house league to double-A, Paxton has consistently given his all on the ice. As he enters his final season of minor hockey with the Raiders, Paxton is preparing for his next adventure. He plans to study Psychology and Philosophy at the University of Toronto, aiming to make a lasting impact both in academics and on the ice. Paxton’s dream of playing junior hockey before transitioning to the beer leagues reflects his deep love for the sport that has shaped him.
Carter Dunn: From Backyard Skating to Big Dreams
Carter’s journey has been extraordinary. From taking his first steps at just 8 months old to lacing up skates with his brother before his first birthday, Carter’s passion for skating and hockey has been ingrained in him from the start. Whether skating on a backyard rink or playing on the ice, Carter has spent much of his life immersed in the game he loves. Looking toward the future, Carter will begin studying Mechanical Techniques in Plumbing at Durham College in September 2025. With aspirations of becoming a licensed plumber and eventually owning his own plumbing business, Carter is ready to take on the world beyond hockey. His entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic will undoubtedly lead him to great success in whatever he pursues.
Jackson Bruger: From Timbits to Triumph
Jackson’s hockey journey began at the age of four with Timbits Hockey with Ajax Knights, stepping onto the ice as a young kid eager to play. In his early days he moved between forward and goalie, always seeking the next challenge. After two seasons in house league, he moved to rep hockey, where he thrived in the faster pace and more competitive environment. Over the years, Jackson competed at various levels, including AA in the GTHL, before returning to his home center where he will end his minor hockey career. Hockey has shaped Jackson in countless ways, teaching him resilience, teamwork, and discipline. As he prepares for university, he is excited to study Kinesiology, combining his love for sports with his passion for health as he enters this new chapter.
A New Beginning
As these exceptional young men prepare to transition to the next phase of their lives, let us take a moment to salute them for all they have achieved. Their dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship have inspired us all. While their hockey journeys may be coming to an end, their futures are just beginning. We wish Evan, Jackson, Carter, and Paxton nothing but the best as they chase their dreams—both on and off the ice. May their paths be full of success, adventure, and endless possibilities!
