HEAD COACH - STEVE WEBSTER

Hockey has always been my greatest passion. I am a beloved Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan and my support for them is unwavering. I was born and raised in Ajax/Pickering and still live here where my son Dylan was born. I have passed on my love of hockey and the Leaf’s to him. Dylan started playing house league when he was 6 years old and I knew immediately I wanted to join the bench staff. I have now been behind the bench for five years with the Ajax Pickering Raiders in the role of trainer, assistant coach, and head coach. I am excited to continue as Head Coach and step into this role for the U13B team.

Our on-ice practices are structured and purpose-driven with an emphasis on team systems. Extra team development is provided weekly which includes power skating, hockey IQ, and conditioning.

We also incorporate off-ice video review sessions to analyze team structure, as well as ball hockey practices where we focus on positioning.

Coaching Philosophy

Our team principle is Effort, Attitude and Focus!

I have a strong commitment to improving hockey IQ, ensuring the player understands their role within the team while working to build their confidence as a player and their ability to be resilient.

Playing hard as a team and having fun while learning new skills will be the goal. Winning is important, but not the priority.

My focus is to create a fun, positive environment where the players are eager to come to the rink.
