HEAD COACH - SHANE HUTLEY

Watching my three boys, who range in age from 2012 to 2016, play hockey has been an incredibly rewarding experience. With years of experience both playing hockey and coaching, I understand how crucial it is to gain the trust of the team. My goal is always to help them develop into amazing people, both on and off the ice. I believe in taking a fair and balanced approach when coaching athletes. That's why I will be asking for open communication between myself, the other coaching staff, and the parent community. Together, we will have a great season filled with lots of growth, fun, and of course, some hockey wins along the way!

Season Plan
As we prepare for the upcoming season, I am excited about the opportunity to build a competitive, hardworking, and development-focused team. Our program will be structured, demanding, and rewarding for players who are committed to improving both individually and as teammates.

Off-Season & Pre-Season Plan
Our development begins long before opening night. Throughout the spring and summer, we will be active with:
• On-ice skill sessions focused on skating, puck control, and game habits
• Position-specific development
• Off-ice strength, speed, and conditioning work
• Team-building activities to establish culture and accountability

Pre-season will be a busy and important phase as we introduce systems, define roles, and prepare for competition. Players can expect purposeful practices, attention to detail, and a strong emphasis on compete level.

In-Season Commitment
During the season, we will have 100+ hours of structured on-ice training along with additional off-ice development and video sessions. Our goal is continuous improvement — week to week, shift to shift.
We plan to participate in three tournaments:
• One away tournament (a great team-bonding experience)
• Two local tournaments

Our focus will be on development, discipline, grit, and consistent effort. We are building a team that competes hard, supports one another, and represents our organization with pride.

Development
I have allotments for player Development by an outside instructor to be used to enhance players skating and person skill sets. I also have allotments professional goalie development also from an outside instructor.

APMHA
Having been a part of the APMHA for a few years now it has allowed me to realize what a great place it is to play and be apart of. Ice time is always available and the organization has been nothing but supportive for its players, coaches, managers, & parents. I am encouraging all  others to join and experience this incredible organization for yourself.

I am looking for players who are coachable, committed, and ready to be challenged. If you are serious about improving your game and being part of a strong team culture, this is the environment for you.

I look forward to seeing motivated players at evaluations and working together to build something special this season.
