AP RAIDERS U18 A (25/26) - COACH PROFILE & TEAM INFORMATION
HEAD COACH - CHRIS YU
My name is Chris Yu and I will be coaching the U18 A team for the 2025/26 season. I have over a decade of coaching experience which includes many successful seasons. I plan to put together another strong coaching team that will help us get the most out of the players and ensure they have both a successful year and an enjoyable season.
MY PROGRAM
The U18 age group will focus on skill and team tactics to produce a competitive team. We will enlist the help of a power skating coach (Larry Marson). We plan to enter 5 tournaments next year, with one of the tournaments being in the southern US as this may be the last year of hockey for many of the players.
The expectation is that next year’s team will compete at the highest level.
PAST COACHING ACHIEVEMENTS
Over the last three years, my teams have accomplished the following:
- 6 Tournament wins
- 2 OMHA appearances
- 1 OMHA finalist
- 1 OMHA title
ICE TIME
We will follow the last few years with approximately 100+ hours of ice time. We will have our ice allocation well in advance, so families will be able to plan ahead in terms of school and other priorities. At the U18 level I understand that school will be the priority over hockey as the kids look toward their future. It will be acceptable for players to miss games or practices from time to time for school.
AP RAIDERS ASSOCIATION
The APMHA has a dedicated Board of Directors and Executive that are all non-parent members, eliminating any perceived conflict of interest or favoritism; their dedication to our MHA is limitless, with no personal gain other than the success of our Association and its players/teams. We have a full administrative staff to support parents and players through all aspects of the season. The APMHA has a solid foundation of continuous and unwavering support for our Coaches, Players and AP Raiders families.
