AP RAIDERS U13A (25/26) - COACH PROFILE & TEAM INFORMATION
HEAD COACH - PETE YOUNG
Hockey has been a lifelong passion of mine, both as a player and a coach. Born and raised in Ajax, I’m proud to still call this great community home, where I live with my wife and our two hockey-loving boys. With over five years of coaching experience across Rep, House League, and Select levels, I’m excited to continue sharing my knowledge and passion for the game.
My playing career began with Ajax Minor Hockey, where I developed as both a defenseman and a forward. In my U18AA year, I helped lead my team to an OMHA Championship win. I later played in the PJHL with the Port Perry MoJacks (1991-92) and the Bowmanville Eagles (1993-94), winning Central and Eastern Ontario Championships with both teams.
For over 30 years, I have worked for the Town of Ajax, specializing in ice operations. As a Certified Ice Technician and former Arena Operator, I’ve spent years maintaining ice surfaces and collaborating with hockey organizations. I served several years as Facility Manager at the Ajax Community Centre, strengthening relationships within the hockey and recreational community. I now oversee operations as Facility Manager of the Audley Recreation Centre in North Ajax.
I am excited to step into the role of Head Coach for the U13A team. My primary goal is to cultivate our players' skills, teamwork, and love for the game. In addition to on-ice practice, we will incorporate off-ice physical training and classroom-style instruction to further develop our players' abilities. We also plan to enter into four tournaments, providing us with the opportunity to showcase our talent and growth as a team. Looking forward to an exciting and memorable season ahead!

ICE TIME
Our team will be on the ice approximately 3-4 times per week. APR makes it easy for families by providing prime time ice times to our teams. We currently use 3 facilities in the association with 9 ice pads between them. Our practice and home game schedule is fixed, providing consistency to the season.
ASSOCIATION
APR is the place to play.
The Ajax Pickering Minor Hockey Association (APMHA) is built on a strong, dedicated Board of Directors and Executive team, all of whom are non-parent members. This ensures an unbiased, conflict-free environment where every decision is made with the best interests of our players and teams in mind. Their unwavering commitment to the growth and success of the MHA comes without personal gain—only a shared passion for fostering the development of our players and the continued success of our Association. With a full administrative staff in place, we provide seamless support for both parents and players throughout the season. The APMHA stands on a solid foundation of continuous, unwavering support for our coaches, players, and AP Raiders families, ensuring a positive and successful hockey experience for all involved.
