AP RAIDERS U10A (25/26) - COACH PROFILE & TEAM INFORMATION
HEAD COACH - RYEN CARLETON
I'm excited to introduce myself as the U10A head coach for the 2025/26 season. I've been coaching within the APR system for over 10 years, holding various positions from Head Coach to Manager across different teams, ranging from AA to House League. Recently, I was part of a team that achieved back-to-back success as semi-finalists at the OMHAs and helped two separate teams win the APR Spring Thaw tournament in their groups. My goal is to bring the same passion for hockey that I developed during my own playing days.
MY PROGRAM & COACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe in a collaborative approach to coaching; there's no single right way to learn. Together, we'll create an environment where every player can succeed through sportsmanship, effort, communication, discipline, and above all else, fun. We'll spend over 80 hours on the ice during the season, including practices and games. Making practice time enjoyable and productive is key because that's where most of our learning will happen. We'll focus on building teamwork and skills through structured and progressive drills, encouraging everyone to reach their full potential.
Preseason development will include both on-ice and off-ice activities, although I always encourage kids to play other sports during the off-season—it’s great for overall development.
I'm also pleased to share that we'll have additional on-ice development support from Gery Othmann of Pro Sport Hockey Development.
ASSOCIATION
APR is the place to play.
The APMHA has a dedicated Board of Directors and Executive that are all non-parent members, eliminating any perceived conflict of interest or favoritism; their dedication to our MHA is limitless, with no personal gain other than the success of our Association and its players/teams. We have a full administrative staff to support parents and players through all aspects of the season. The APMHA has a solid foundation of continuous and unwavering support for our Coaches, Players and AP Raiders families.
