AP RAIDERS U10AA (25/26) - COACH PROFILE & TEAM INFORMATION
HEAD COACH - MARC MATHIEU
It is my distinct pleasure to be the Head Coach of the U10AA Ajax Pickering Raiders for the 2025-2026 season. I am a parent-coach with over ten seasons combined experience, coaching boys hockey up to AAA with Ajax-Pickering and girls hockey up to AA with Durham West. Born and raised in Ottawa, I am a graduate of Carleton University, Queen’s University (MBA) and am a CPA. An accountant by trade, I spent most of my career in Banking and now co-own a small accounting firm with my wife, Shannon. I have three kids (Joshua 2013, Katelyn 2014 and Jonathan 2016) – all three play rep hockey and rep lacrosse, giving me a distinct understanding of how Representative and competitive sports teams work and how to help competitive athletes develop.
MY PROGRAM
I intend to run a AAA caliber program, leveraging the skill and experience of the coaching staff supplemented with top tier on and off-ice development. Players can expect to receive both high-level individual and team-based progressive skill development throughout the season. Players will be on the ice ~4 times a week (depending on away-games), typically the same days week over week, and with the full season of ice-time known at the start of the season. We play in the Lakeshore Hockey League (OMHA) which encompasses Durham Region out to Kingston and we expect to participate in four tournaments with up to two requiring travel and hotel accommodation.

The APMHA has a dedicated Board of Directors and Executive that are all non-parent members, eliminating any perceived conflict of interest or favoritism; their dedication to our MHA is limitless, with no personal gain other than the success of our Association and its players/teams. We have a full administrative staff to support parents and players through all aspects of the season. The APMHA has a solid foundation of continuous and unwavering support for our Coaches, Players and AP Raiders families.
