Ajax Pickering Raiders U11AA Capture Back-to-Back Tournament Titles
The Ajax Pickering Raiders U11AA team continued their impressive run this past weekend, claiming their second consecutive tournament championship at the 2025 Pickering Fall Classic.
Friday
The Raiders’ weekend got off to a rocky start with a tough 7–3 loss to a determined Newmarket Renegades squad. The defeat served as a wake-up call, and the team wasted no time bouncing back. Later that afternoon, the Raiders delivered a dominant 5–0 victory over the Ottawa Sting.
From the opening faceoff, Ajax Pickering set the tone with relentless pressure and timely scoring, while goaltender Ronan St. Louis stood tall, turning aside every shot to secure the shutout.
Saturday
Saturday’s round-robin matchup against the Nickel City Cubs tested the Raiders’ resilience once again. After giving up two untimely goals early, the team battled back late to earn a hard-fought 2–2 tie which set up a rematch in the Semis with the Ottawa Sting.
Sunday
In the semi-final, the Raiders carried over their momentum, controlling play from start to finish in a convincing 3–1 win that earned them a spot in the championship game.
The final brought another meeting with the Newmarket Renegades — the only team to defeat Ajax Pickering that weekend. This time, the Raiders were determined to rewrite the story. Playing with focus and determination, they struck first when Andrew Wilson scored midway through the opening period, a goal that would stand as the eventual game-winner.
Goaltender Austin Loch was outstanding, turning away every shot he faced, including a clutch save on a third-period penalty shot that sealed the victory and the tournament title.
With this win, the U11AA Raiders have now captured back-to-back tournament championships, once again proving that when the pressure is on, this team rises to the occasion.
Congratulations to the Ajax Pickering Raiders U11AA on another outstanding performance!
